Pasco County Healthcare Training Courses
Our New Port Richey healthcare training institute offers the following courses:
American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR / First Aid
We offer a four-hour BLS CPR session for the Health Care Provider Course teaching the nation’s leading CPR guidelines from American Heart. Our CPR course, which is good for two years, will teach you everything you need to confidently perform CPR in the field.
Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) / HIV
Our BBP/HIV course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. The American Heart Association’s course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and slogan, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act,” to help students practice safely in the field.
This is a four-hour training session that provides guidelines to unlicensed personnel regarding safe assistance with self-administration of medications in assisted living facilities (ALFs) and home care settings. This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to be in compliance with OSHA and Elder Affairs. You do not need to be a CNA to take this class.
Home Health Aide (HHA)
This 75-hour program is designed to prepare students for employment as entry-level Home Health Aides, or Homemaker for Private Patient roles. The program addresses positions many settings, including home health agencies, and working as independent contractors. Upon successful completion, students will earn a Home Health Aide diploma.
Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Patient Care Technicians are multi-skilled healthcare workers who, under the
direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, can carry out the essential basic
bedside nursing functions. The PCT comes in direct contact with the patient in the performance of his or her assigned duties. Students also receive supplementary training in 12-lead EKG, basic phlebotomy techniques, terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
